Countermeasures: moulded EVA inserts support the four corners so hinges are not loaded at a single point; each unit is bagged in EPE foam before entering its colour box, with honeycomb paper filling the gap to the master carton; every lock and combination lock is opened and closed for testing before dispatch, with insufficient torque sent back for rework. Use five-ply corrugated cartons and keep gross weight under 18 kg per carton for easier overseas warehouse handling. Sea containers require desiccant — leather grows mould above 75% humidity, so allow one to two sachets per cubic metre.
